PROGRAM DETAILS

1 Day 1 : Arrival in Casablanca

We will pick you up from the airport and take you to your accommodation. Afterwards we will take you to explore this cultural, historical and economic center of Morocco and visit the Hassan II Mosque which is the largest mosque in Northern Africa; it took 7 years to build and holds some 25,000 individuals for prayer. In the evening you’ll go back to your hotel for dinner.

2 Day 2 : Casablanca – Rabat - Chefchaouen

In the early morning after breakfast, we will leave Casablanca. Your first stop is Rabat, the capital city of Morocco and residence of the king, where you will be able to enjoy the amazing coastal city; and the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Oudayas. At the end of the day, we will arrive to the beautiful blue city, Chefchaouen where we will stay for the night.

3 Day 3 : Chefchaouen –Volubilis - Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, you can enjoy the magic of the Medina in Chefchaouen. In the afternoon we leave the city by crossing the Rif mountains to arrive at the ancient Roman town – UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have time to explore the main sights in Meknes (with or without a local guide). Visit the impressive gate, “Bab Mansour”, the tomb of Moulay Ismail, the souks and various quarters and the Grand Mosque. Continue your travel to Fes.

4 Day 4 : Fes - Meknes

In the morning you will follow your guide through the narrow streets of the bustling souks in Fes. You will visit the Medina of Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO Heritage site for more than 9000 streets in a car free zone; it is a labyrinth of intrigue and interest. The Attarine Koranic school; called Medersa, is perhaps one of the most beautiful in Fes, we will also visit Nejjarine and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idrissi. We will pass by the Quaraouiyine Mosque, belonging to the Qaraouiyine University, the oldest in history, which was found in the year 880 by a woman. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the old town in the heart of the medina. You will return to your hotel/riad for the evening.

5 Day 5 : Fes – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, you will begin your journey crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains towards the Sahara Desert. You will travel to Merzouga via Erracidia and Erfoud. Have some free time to enjoy the scenery of the famous fossils and rocks of Midelt, a small town in the middle of the Atlas Mountains, where you will have lunch. We continue the mountain roads along the Ziz River with its amazing oasis lined with palm trees and fortified castles. The trip continues east towards the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi to reach Merzouga where your camel guide awaits you to carry you across the golden dunes of the Moroccan Sahara to your desert camp site, when the sun set across the desert landscape. Reach your desert camp for the night and enjoy refreshing mint tea and a delicious dinner. Spend your night at a campfire with Berber music under millions of stars in traditional nomadic fashion.

6 Day 6 : Merzouga and Sahara Discovery

After breakfast we will go out in the 4X4 to discover the area, meet some of the locals and discover different ways of living. The village of Khamlia is inhibited by descendants of Sudanese slaves and through their Gnaoua music and songs they tell stories of their past. Not far from this village you can see the lake of Merzouga, which is visited by seasonal flock of Flamingos. There will be time to see local Berber handcrafts which are for sale, a good opportunity to buy from locals. After lunch and a rest, you will prepare to leave on the camel ride to discover the sea of sand guided by an experienced camel guide. Erg chebbi dunes are the largest in this region of Morocco, the silence that can be found as you move across the red golden dunes id very special and the experience of riding a camel to your desert camp, spending the night under the stars in the company of nomads is something you may never forget. After dinner, some music and song, you will spend the night in a traditional Berber tent.

7 Day 7 : Merzouga – Todgha Gorges – Dades Gorge

We always recommend getting up early to experience and enjoy the sunrise and return by camel to the 4x4s and head back to Erfoud. Passing through the Atlas Mountain on route to Todgha Gorges, where you will have your lunch and explore this canyon with its 300 meter high vertical walls as you walk along the river’s edge. After lunch, we drive via Boumalne and Dades Valley to Dades Gorges to see the amazing rock formation known as ‘’the monkey fingers’’ because of the shapes in the eroded landscape. You will also see the 19 th century Kasbah of Ait Youl which is still standing. We stay overnight in local hotel overlooking the Dades Valley.

8 Day 8 : Dades Gorge

After breakfast you will take a tour in the area which is famous for its spectacular landscape. In the afternoon we offer you a hike in the “Monkey Fingers” but they are a unique rock formation that look exactly what they are called; monkey fingers. After enjoying the day exploring the beautiful area around and getting to know the Berber culture, lifestyle and their hospitality; we return to the hotel for the night.

9 Day 9 : Dades Gorge – Ouarzazate – Ait BenHaddou

After breakfast at your hotel, we travel west taking the Dades Gorges route crossing the valley of Roses before heading to Skoura where you will see so many kasbahs among the greenery of Dades valley . The small town of Skoura is surounded by thousands of palm groves and the most beautiful kasbahs in southern Morocco are to be found here. Continue our journey to Ouarzazat ”Hollywood of Africa’’- whose geography and beautiful landscapes have and continue to attract many world class movie producers. Here you may choose to visit the studios, containing props used in movies you may have already seen; the Mummy, Gladiator and the Last Temptation of Christ. Overnight accommodation will be in a local Riad in Ouarzazate.

10 Day 10 : Ait BenHaddou – Telouet - Marrakech

We start the day by visiting Ait Ben Haddou, aUNESCO World Heritage site, with its extraordinary ensemble of buildings offering a complete panorama of pre-sahara earthen construction techniques. After the visit we start our journey to Marrakech and on the way we will visit the Kasbah of Telouet, once the seat of Pasha El Glaoui in the early 20th century. From there we will cross the beautiful Atlas mountains again, this time through the Tizi N-Tichka pass (2160m), heading to Marrakech where we will stay the next night.

11 Day 11 : Marrakech

After traditional breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel to explore the magical mystical city of Marrakech. We will see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest; the Majorelle Garden, the Medina, Menara Garden, Al-Bahia Palace, and the Saadian tombs, which is one of the most famous shrines in Morocco. In the evening you will return to your hotel for the night.

12 Day 12 : Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls

Getting out of the hot and busy city of Marrakech, you will end up in the wonderful and quiet place of Ouzoud Waterfalls. The falls are located by the village of Tanaghmeilt in the High Atlas Mountains and are the highest waterfalls (110 meters) in a country that is often affected by drought.When arriving at Ouzoud, you will have free time to visit and get lunch.In the afternon you will return to Marrakech in your comfortable private transport. Drop you off at your Hotel/Riad.

13 Day 13 : Marrakech – Essaouira

In the morning we will head to the city of Essaouira, the Medina of Gnaoua (formerly “Mogador”). You can see the influence of some of the European civilization that have occupied this fortress town; the Portuguese have left their mark with the white washed architecture, the Spanish with their cannons along the fortified seawalls and the Jewish in the merchants part of the medina. We will explore the ancient city walls that still stand after hundreds of years, the souks (bazaars), the beautiful Moulay el Hassan square, and the old medina (listed as a UNESCO heritage site).

14 Day 14 : Essaouira - Casablanca

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your Riad and drive you to the airport either in Marrakech or Casablanca for your flight.
