2 Days Trip from Marrakech To Zagora Desert Sahara

PROGRAM DETAILS

1 Day 1 : MARRAKECH - OUARZAZATE - AGDEZ - ZAGORA

Our Morocco Happiness Tours starts at 8:00 AM when the driver will come to pick you up from your Riad or Hotel in Marrakech in a comfortable air-conditioned 4×4 car or minivan. We’ll leave the red city behind us and drive south-east crossing many small villages on our way. After about 100 kilometers, we start to go up as we reach the chain of the Atlas Mountains with the highest pass in Tizi N Tichka (2160m).

After the pass, we cross several Berber villages again, perched in the mountains and hills. The scenery on the road changes frequently as we keep going, leaving no room for boredom. We will arrive to Ouarzazate (~100 kilometers from Tichka pass) where we will stop to see the beautiful Kasbah of Taourirt (home to former Caid Pacha Glaoui). We continue to drive through the beautiful valleys for another 90 kilometers to reach Agdez and appreciate the view of its Palmira’s from the highest point.

We continue our desert trip to the city of Zagora, where the camels wait for you at the end of the paved road to take you to the camp in the desert just in time to witness the majestic sunset and take memorable photos. Once you arrive at the camp of Zagora desert, you will be welcomed by the staff in your tents and gathered for a mint tea session to get to know each other and break the ice with other customers.

After a nice homemade dinner, you gather around fire to enjoy a session of singing and dancing around fire, sharing beautiful moments and forget the world around.

2 Day 2 : ZAGORA - DRAA VALLEY - TIZI-N-TICHA - MARRAKECH

The second day of the Zagora desert trip starts with an early breakfast, so don’t miss out the awesome sunrise Zagora has to offer.

We leave Zagora behind us and head straight back to the amazing village of Ait Ben Haddou, declared by the UNESCO as a world heritage site, where we will have lunch. The village is known as a backdrop for many cinematographic works - the most famous ones are ‘The gladiator’, ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and even some scenes of the classic ‘Game of thrones’ were shot in this place.

After the visit we go back through the Tichka pass to Marrakech where we arrive in the evening.
