PROGRAM DETAILS

1 Day 1 : Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga

You will be picked up in Fez by your Morocco Happiness Tours guide and we will start the journey of the day to Merzouga by driving through Ifrane, Next we will visit the cedar forest Azrou where you will see the monkeys (Barbary Apes) and then cross the mountains of the Middle Atlas. Most of the day will be spent traveling through forests, springs and Berber villages. Halfway we will stop for lunch in the city of Midelt. We continue to cross the Atlas Mountains and begin to descend to the Sahara Desert. In the afternoon we will arrive to Merzouga sand dunes where you will spend the night in a hotel.

2 Day 2 : Merzouga area and the Camel Trek

After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin an exploration tour of the area. You will visit the nomads under their goat hair tent and learn about life in the desert. Then visit the Gnaoua people, the origin of the slaves brought from Sudan and you will have the opportunity to listen to their music and to know their culture and way of life. We continue to explore the area visiting Rissani among other interesting places. In the afternoon, we will meet up with Camel guides which will take you on a Camel Ride in the desert where you can explore the mysterious sea of sand of Erg-Chebbi and appreciate the beauty of the Sahara desert and the sunset over the golden dunes. At the end of the ride you will reach your desert camp where you will have dinner and enjoy the night in front of a fire with live Berber music and spend the night in a tent under the stars.

3 Day 3 : Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges

You should wake up early and look at the magic lights before the sunrise. Once you are out of the sand dunes, you’ll meet your tour guide again and we’ll continue our tour, heading towards Valley of Dades. We depart towards Tinghir where we will have a break for lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue to Todra Gorges, stopping along the way for photos and admiring the views. We stop in Todra Gorges to enjoy its marvelous canyons views while wandering around on foot. At the end of the day we drive to the Valley of Dades and enjoy the beautiful landscape before we stop for a dinner and overnight stay in a hotel or riad.

4 Day 4 : Dades Gorges – Roses Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

We will start our journey along “the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs” first by passing the Valley of Roses which is the capital of roses in Morocco, then Skoura Oasis until we reach Ouarzazte. During this drive we will pass many beautiful spots to take pictures and/or enjoy the views. Ouarzazate is known as the Hollywood of Africa, and there you can find large studios which have attracted few of the major producers in the world. We offer you to stop and visit a studio before we head to the area of Aid Ben Haddou were, we will spend the night in a hotel or riad.

5 Day 5 : Kasbah Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

In the morning we start by visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Ait-Ben-Haddou, in Ouarzazate province. It is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco with a well-preserved fortress city that has provided inspiration and filming locations with the biggest studios inviting many international companies to work in Ouatzazate On our way to Marrakech we will visit the Kasbah of Telouet, once the seat of Pasha El Glaoui of Marrakech and finally we’ll find our way through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N Tichka pass (2260m), the highest road pass in Morocco. Late in the afternoon, we will arrive to Marrakech where our tour ends.
